I have a lamp on my desk.
This is my lamp.
The lamp is very bright, but unfortunately the lamp also gets very hot if it is left on for a while. The picture above shows me touching the very hot metal part of the lamp. The heat I felt from touching the metal was conduction. The low specific heat of the metal causes it get hot very quickly and very easily. The black part of the lamp on top is not as hot because plastic has a lower specific heat. By placing your hand near the lamp, you can feel heat without touching the lamp. This is because heat is being transferred through electromagnetic radiation.
